Stop Spam!!!

I am so excited to share this info today!!! I recently came upon how to stop both unwanted phone calls and junk mail! (physical mail, not email) Don't know why I didn't pursue this years ago, but no time like the present. I kept getting a call on my cell from an automated company... in Spanish! I also hate wasting 5 to 10 minutes everyday shredding all the credit card apps we get in the mail everyday! I bet you do too!

Good for only one year. You must call and renew every January. Must call from the number you want blocked. Works for both home phones and cell phones! (may take 30 days to take effect)

Consumer Reporting Agency

Good for 5 years. Stops information on your credit report from being sold to insurance and credit card companies! It will probably be easier to call from your home phone (if you have one). They use that number to verify your address.
Note: if you have a difficult name (such as 'Giesey') and the automated system can't figure out what your last name is, you will have to provide your social security number. If you are uncomfortable doing so, don't waste your time. Otherwise, you should be fine. (takes 5 business days to take effect - not including who may already have your info. Could take up to several months to stop. Worth it if it works for 5 years!)
