There are some days I wish nap time was 6 hours long... today it didn't come soon enough and more than likely won't last long enough. I don't know what's in the water or the air, but there has got to be something that is possessing my sweet little two-year-old's body!!! My huggable, lovable, adorable daughter has been replaced by a conniving, horrible, disobedient little demon child.
This "Marlie Monster", as we'll call her, will listen to what I say and do exactly the opposite. Throws food and dishes on the floor, puts everything in her mouth - especially when you ask her not to, tears things up including toilet paper and tissues just because she likes the confetti effect, replaced her indoor voice with banshee-like screams, hits the dog just so she can say sorry and pummel (I mean hug) her, tells me she has to pee just so she can get out of going to bed or prolong anything else undesirable, enjoys dumping out all her toys, bowls of snacks, and other small objects just because mommy can't stand messes...
Do you feel exhausted yet. I do. And to top it all off - it doesn't stop while she sleeps at night. This demon child that took over also insists on working the graveyard shift because she wakes up every 2 to 3 hours calling out "Mommy! No, Mommy!" and won't stop until I go in and tell her to go back to sleep or take her potty. I told Chris this morning that we mind as well have a new born again. They only difference is that newborns are actually sweet and soft and gentle!
Maybe it's cabin fever. It's been too cold out side to go out and do much. Maybe she's getting her two-year molars. Maybe this is what they call the terrible two's. Whatever it is... I hope its just a phase. This mommy is going to turn into The Incredible Mommy (Hulk style) soon. Heaven help us all!
I hear you sister! It does get better...eventually, but it's usually just in time for the next "phase." :) She sure is a cutie!
