Kid Speak: 2011

Ever since Marlie was a baby, I would write cute little things she does down on the calendar. It was a good reminder of when she did things and a quick place to record them. As Marlie learned to talk some got pretty funny. Here's a few of my favs from the past year:

January
*Chris is playing with a yo-yo right before dinner. Marlie says "Prayers Daddy, prayers!"

February
*Marlie and I are eating breakfast. Marlie says to me, "Mommy! [You only have] TWO bites left!"
* Chris is chasing Marlie. "Mommy! SAVE ME!!!"

March
*After anyone coughs, "you ok, [Daddy]?"
* Marlie is riding on her rocking horse. "My bum tiny. Mommy's bum big!"

April
*"Oh man!"
* Sniffs the air..."Pee-u! Dog poop!"

May
*"Mmm... chocolate!"
*Me: "Lets grind some wheat for the cookies."
  Marlie:"No Mommy! No meat!"

June
*While sitting on the toilet..."I'm making music in my toilet!"
*Before bed/ nap "One more question Mommy..."
*Wraps blanket around her shoulders, runs around the house and says "Super Marlie!"

July
*I took a spoonful of yogurt straight from the big container. "Don't eat out of container. Get a bowl!"
*Marlie is pretending to drive. Grandpa tells her to drive like Mommy. "Keep driving Dude!"
*Marlie comes out wearing white tights on her head. I ask her if she has long ears. "No, I'm getting married." I ask "to who?" She replies "Jesus."

August
*Me: "Try saying that again in a happy voice."
Marlie: "My happy voice not here!"
*Marlie: "I don't give good 5's anymore."
  Me: "Why not?"
Marlie: "I haven't been working out."

September
*"Do these pants look good on me Daddy?"
*At dinner: "Actually, this is pretty good!"
*"Is it ok if I hold Peewee in my arms? That way she won't be scared of monsters."

October
*"Just be patent Mom!"
*Marlie: "I'm not tired, I'm just stressed."
  Me: "Why are you stressed?"
Marlie: "Because I want to be with Mima, so I'm stressed."

November
*"Peewee is going to be adorable like me!"
*Marlie: "You're not a grown up mom."
  Me: "Then what am I?"
Marlie: "Just a kid like me."
Me: "Then who will take care of us?"
  Marlie: "Daddy."

December
*Oh my goodness gracious!"
*"I think my body makes special milk too. I want to feed Aubrie."
*Aubrie starts to cry. "Oh no, not again! Oh my goodness gracious. Aubrie, please stop!"

I can hardly wait to hear what she comes up with this year!
