SNOW much fun!

First off, I want to ask, what kind of insane mother takes her child in for shots the same day they are to leave for a crazy, long road trip across the country?! What was I thinking?! In my defense, we weren't planning on leaving for CO until Wednesday evening, so I planned Marlie's 15 month check-up for Tuesday. Well, a nice storm was also planning on coming to CO Wednesday, so we decided the smart thing to do was leave earlier. The weather lady on the news last Monday literally said, "if you are planning on going to Colorado to see family for Christmas, you need to leave tomorrow!" How did she know what we had planned for Christmas? Long story short, we left after Chris got home from work on Tuesday night and drove through the night. Marlie did pretty good filled with Tylenol and slept until about 4am when the roads got reeeaaaly bad. We had freezing sleet which made an ice rink out of I-70 through Kansas. I would like to ask K-Dot why their snow plows are always going east-bound and not the direction we need them to go? After a grueling 16 hours -4 hours longer than normal- we made it to our destination!

There was lots of beautiful snow on the ground that made for a pretty white Christmas! It is much too bad that the wind has been blowing too hard to go out and play in the snow. Chris and my brother Mike made a snow cave the other day. Marlie and I finally went out and explored it today. It's pretty cool!

Some of the things Marlie has learned from Grandpa & Grandma's house so far are:
*It's fun when Grandpa helps put a snowball down Grandma's back!
*Grandma's bath tub is much better than the one at home!
*Two dogs are better than one!
*Olives taste better when you eat them off your fingers!
*Christmas cookies are yummy!
*Anything in wrapping paper is surely for Marlie to open!
*If she begs from everyone for a bite of pie, Marlie will eventually eat a full piece!

More of our fun filled Christmas adventure to come! We can hardly wait for Marlie's Uncle Ben and Aunt Effie to come tomorrow! Hope you all are enjoying this wonderful holiday season!
(FYI, Marlie only weighs 18 lb 10 oz and is 29" tall - about 10th%. That's my tiny little girl!)
