Baby's Firsts...

When you have your first baby, there are many firsts...
As we approach September, I am looking back at the last year and thinking about Marlie's 1st birthday!!! I can't believe she's almost a whole year old! I've tried to be good at writing down all her firsts so I don't forget (I'd like to thank my grandma for her memory genes! Yes, you know who you are!). But last week we experienced a first I won't forget soon enough...

Marlie ate her first un-edible object - a small metal hair clip! We forgot to take it out of her hair when she went down for a nap and couldn't find it anywhere when she woke up! The doctor said if it was the size of a nickle it would pass though just fine. Sure enough, a day and half later, we found that little clip... I am thankful not to have to sort through her diapers any more!!!
One of Marlie's first words, aside from Mama and what sounds like Papa, is fish. She is taking her first steps, 3 or 4 at a time. My little baby is growing up. But she is so fun now! Someone asked Chris and I the other day if parenthood gets harder as they get older. I said no. Sure, she gets into everything now, but she is so worth it!
