Happy Birthday Briea. Our oldest "child" is turning 6 this year. When Briea was a puppy she was so rambunctious and crazy and wild. Everyone told us she would calm down when she turned 2... then when she turned 5. And she hasn't changed a bit since then. I've finally concluded that Briea just has an energetic personality. And we love her for it. She really is a great dog.
Last week I took her to the vet to get a lump checked out on her belly. The Dr told me that it was definitely not a cyst, that is was some kind of tumor and needed to be removed right away. Not what I wanted to hear, but ok.
Surgery was on Monday. Good news is our dog isn't dying of cancer. It was just a cyst. A hard, tumor-like cyst. Good news is, large bills like this always come around Christmas time. Good news is we now know that it was a cyst and with it gone it can't rupture and cause her pain. Good news is we accidently popped a tire while getting a load of firewood today. Good news is the tires on the Traverse are practically made of gold at a price like that! Good news is our other car needs new brakes, new tires, a new clutch, and a good tune-up. Good news is Aubrie's birthday is in 2 weeks!
Good news is we have a loving family dog. Good news is we have lots of firewood to heat our house this winter. Good news is we have two cars to get us where we need to go. Good news is Chris has a job. Good news is Aubrie survived her first year of life. We are so blessed! Thank you Briea for bringing this to light! Happy Thanksgiving y'all.
In case you are wondering. Briea is doing fine. We are supposed to keep her calm for 10-14 days. In case you haven't met Briea... read the above description of her. Pretty much as impossible as keeping Marlie calm. No, harder. I will never do the cone thing again. Poor dog! She couldn't see anything and kept running into the walls and couldn't even make it down the stairs! We took it off after about 2 minutes. The t-shirt works GREAT. Chris taped up the bottom so it isn't dragging and she can't get it off. She can't lick or scratch her wound. We give her a little break in the mornings to just be a dog. Funny thing is, this morning she sat happily and let Chris dress her. I think she kinda likes it! LOL. No worries though. In a few more days we'll be done with the shirt for good. (BTW, Brenda, if you are reading this - I miss you!!!!!)

Aw, poor Briea!!
