Soy it is.

I was just about to post pictures of Marlie's birthday party when it occurs to me that I haven't written anything about Aubrie in a long long time. July to be exact! Wow.

There's been a lot going on with this little girl lately. She now has 2 teeth (as of July 26th). She turned 9 months on September 2nd and I bit the bullet and started weaning. I told Marlie that my goal was to eat birthday cake with her for her birthday on the 8th. I made it! Aubrie took to formula almost too well. Why is that stinky stuff so much tastier than the milk I worked so hard to produce? Who knows. I didn't like the idea of Soy at first. Just a weird opinion of soy I guess. I really didn't want to stop nursing... but it wasn't healthy for me to keep up the gluten free/ dairy free diet. And quite frankly, Aubrie seems healthier and happier now than she ever has been since switching to formula. She still doesn't do too well with wheat or dairy directly so we avoid those. Easier said than done. I wish I could giver her cheerios, yogurt and cottage cheese. Pancakes and bread and muffins and so on... but we do have some GF pancake mix that she LOVES. I've already noticed that she is a little jealous of what we are eating when she can't have it. And it breaks my heart. Hopefully she'll out grow it soon. She does however eat a TON of veggies and fruits and all the rice, corn and oatmeal she can handle. And let me tell you, this girl eats more veggies in a sitting than I do!

Aubrie just pretty much figured out crawling now. It's about time - not that I'm complaining. It was kind of nice to know where she was all the time instead of having to hunt for her every few minutes. While I was in St. Louis last weekend Chris looked up and Aubrie was 12 feet away from him playing in the dog's water. Now she is happy to get any where she wants to  - howbeit a little slow still. The world won't keep her down for long because she is already pulling herself up on the furniture.

She is such a happy soul now days. She giggles all the time. She loves to watch Marlie run around and I'm pretty sure Daddy is her favorite. She can't resist smothering her face into all things soft and she has a natural love for baby dolls that just makes me smile! The sign language is kicking in and she signs 'daddy', sometimes 'mommy', 'Briea (dog)', and 'more' anytime she is hungry. Her sign for 'Daddy' is my favorite; a forehead slap! She has been nick-named "Happy Feet" because anytime she gets excited her hands and feet move a hundred miles an hour. Seriously, she can't help herself!

I'm loving this age. She is so curious and still doesn't feel a need to be in the middle of everything. She thinks anything you do is funny! I love that she cuddles with me - even if for a few moments. I also love that she "sings" with me when I put her to sleep. I just can't get enough of her!
