Spring Happenings

Wow, how time flies! Aubrie is now 5 months old! Part of me is so sad that the little baby days are fading so fast. Another (very small) part of me can't wait to be done nursing in another 7 months or so. Is that bad that I want to stop nursing so I can have an extra cheesy pizza and a huge fudgy brownie again? None the less, nursing I am until her or I call it quits. With Marlie that was 10 1/2 months.

Aubrie is a very happy soul most times. She wakes up purely over joyed most mornings. She sleeps through the night about 5 nights a week!!! (Unless she is having tummy trouble like this week) Yes, I'm spoiled - and loving it.  She wants to sit up real bad and is getting close. She is slowly getting used to eating off a spoon. I'm taking it real slow as to not aggravate her digestive system- an almost impossible task!

Marlie is an obstinate little thing recently. We've been logging some serious hours on the time-out stool the past two weeks. (I think the new-baby-excitement wore off and we're fighting jealousy issues.) But on the other hand she finally saw how happy Aubrie is when she gives her gentle affection. Finally! She hates to have her picture taken, but loves to take pictures. If I don't keep the camera out of reach I'll find 20 random pictures from obscure views! She loves spinach smoothie Popsicles- and I'm happy to make them! She is growing into a very pretty little girl and has a most contagious smile! I love to sit back and just look at her-when she is behaving.

 Isn't this valley beautiful?!

Last weekend we went to Kansas City for the newest Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The dedication was on Sunday, but we went up for the Cultural Celebration that the youth of the area put on. 3,000 YOUTH to be exact. And the really exciting part was that our Prophet, President Monson was there! We sat behind him (and up a few rows in the nose bleed section); what a great sense of humor he has. We really enjoyed seeing him in a "non-business" situation. Chris and I were so lucky to be able to go to this event child-free! We had a great (and much needed) night out.

But before we went on our date we went north of Kansas City a little way to a church history site called Adam-Ondi-Ahman. It's a beautiful valley where Joseph Smith and the early saints settle in the spring of 1843. They started to build homes and get settled until October when mobs chased them away. How sad to have to leave this great place after such a short amount of time. We enjoyed our visit here.

I think it's safe to say I completely have my "photo-mojo" back! Are there enough pictures here for you?! More pictures and funny stories to come... someday soon. When I have time. Ok, if that was the case you'd probably never see another picture on here again. Somday- we'll just leave it at that.
