I feel a little obligated to post this tonight since I've already had so many inquiries about the sex of our new baby.
Sadly... this is stubborn baby #2 - just like Marlie. This baby does not want us to know what it is for another 3 to 4 weeks. After a very lengthy ultrasound today, my unusually very active baby would not hold still. Also, apparently since I'm so tall, its not uncommon for people of my build to carry babies very low in their bodies. The baby was sitting straight up inside me, leaving the little hind-end out of sight. The doc says her best guess would be a "girl" but she would not say for sure.
My only explanation about the unusual activeness is that I didn't eat lunch until almost 2 and the ultra sound was at 2:30. I think there was a definite protest in action. That runs in the family you know. So of course, when the ultra sound was over and we left feeling a little disappointed the baby settled right down for a quiet nap. Not another kick or punch. Geesh. We went directly upstairs for my scheduled appointment with my regular doctor and she offered to do one more ultra sound on their "dinosaur" ultra sound machine there. She could see why there was so much trouble seeing, but the baby was so still and not willing to move that- again- we couldn't see anything.
We shall meet again in 3 to 4 weeks time. Dang. I was so excited to go find me a cute little newborn outfit to celebrate. Guess that will have to wait too. Sad day. Good news though is that the baby is perfect in every way. All measurements look normal and show normal growth rates. That's all we can ask for. Love this baby.
By the way, in case you were wondering, according to the blogger poll with your votes, boys won out at 58%.
Ha ha...Candie, you can't determine gender by popular vote, don'tcha know. It's a girl. Mark my words. :-)
